Every year, the American Cancer Society encourages smokers to take part in the Great American Smokeout on the third Thursday of November.
Are you a smoker, or know someone who smokes? Use this day to make a plan to quit yourself, or help a loved one make a plan to quit smoking for the day. By quitting – even for 1 day – you'll be taking an important step toward a healthier life and reducing your risk of cancer.
